One of these famous little tram cars of Lisbon. The kind of scene I would normally have done with a digital camera, but a bit earlier that night I realized I had no spare battery for my OM-D EM-10, a bit later I realized I had forgotten to bring the battery charger as well! Thankfully I had brought along a couple of rolls of TMax 3200 I wanted to test. That film does work pretty well indeed. Apparently it develops to much smaller grains in developers such as XTol. Maybe I'll try that someday.

Ysayas cecinit,
Synagoge meminit:
Jesse radix exeret
Virgam; virga profereta
Florem; flos amigdala
Synagoga scandala.
Aridula
Virgincula
Vivifice florificat,
Fructificat.
Ecce ministerium:
Virgo verbo peperit
Verum Dei Filium.

Isaiah sang,
and the Synagogue remembered.
The root of Jesse brings forth
branch; the branch offers a flower;
the flower an almond
and a stumbling-block to the Synagogue.
The barren maiden
coming to life flowers
and bears fruit.
Behold the gift:
by a word, the virgin gives birth
to the true Son of God.

Christmas hymn, Anonymous from France in the 12th-century. I came across that one over the magnificent Hilliard Ensemble recording of Perotin's music, the translation I picked here> earlymusicnow.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Rose-Ensembl...

Along the empty streets at night... I am really not sure about the precise location. Somewhere below Rato.

From the same TMax 3200 roll as the couple of pictures before, but this time with the Canon A-1. If you are real careful with respooling your film, you can let the end of it peeking out of the can so you can continue it with another camera. Go over the frames you already shot with the lens cap on, smallest aperture and fastest shutter speed, and you are good to go. As it turns out, the A-1 is a bit optimistic with metering in the dark. With this film, I'd rather not go below 1/60th second at f/2.8 in that kind of environment.
