A nice find by the Site Manager this morning. Having never photographed this species (digitally) I decided to go even though it was light rain initially. Pleased to see the bird and first light, showed very nicely feeding in the muddy pools next to the car park.

I know you should always try to get down to water level, however this Moorhen kept swimming past and disturbing the relatively still water, producing some interesting patterns. So I elevated slightly to see more of the effect. The bird was mostly in shade and the background in sunlight. Happy with the result.
