Due to near collapse of the Irish banks The Irish Banking system is now being funded by loans from Europe.these loans have to be paid back .so the irish Government has increased income tax and introduced a new tax on top of this so as to repay Europe.The government has also made huge cutbacks on social services ,public services ,Comunity groups funding ,Social welfare aid and so on.while the more well off dont contribute their fair share.Not one banker has yet being prosecuted for getting us Irish into this financial mess.Bankers are stil getting their over the top bonuses..so the comunity groups around the country has come together to unite against these measures and thus this protest march is a result of this gathering, to let the Irish Government and Europe know that there is a lot of angry people in ireland opposed to these taxes and cutbacks .
