The President Of Ireland serves a 7 year term with a max of 2 terms .the position is mostly ceremonial .they can disolve the government at the request of the Primeminister
the President may also refuse to sign any laws that He/she may feel are in Arguement with the Irish Constitution .in such incidents these laws are then refered to the Council of state where then they will be tested through the high court of Ireland
