Happy New Year, everyone. Another year, another sunrise. One way or the other, I've forced 2024 to be a dramatic year of change. Fingers crossed it will at least be partially rewarding.

I stitched together several cell phone shots from this evening. I just loved the light and the colors, and I've always wanted to catch this panorama without the normal distortion. I've tried a wide-angle lens, but the bridge is so large relative to the city that it's difficult to find a standard photo size that frames it well from this location, as even 16:9 is too compressed to keep the city at a reasonable size.
So I finally got around to stitching. I'll try it again with my DSLR sometime.

This is the Shinkyo Bridge in Nikko, Japan. I was there a week or so, ago. This incarnation of Shinkyo was constructed in 1636, but a bridge has been here for much longer. Its origins are more a legend than anything else, formed by two serpents meeting from either side of the River to create a crossing. The bridge is near the entrance to the Toshogu Shrine.
