Well, except for the Elephant Seals on Drakes Beach. There's breeding rights to be established.
I had a beautiful Christmas day, out on Point Reyes, taking the first pictures in months.I pretty much had the wildlife to myself, my happy place.
I have a couple of days off too, so finally will be showing some Flickr love.

Hmmm, suspicious red on those lips, and I don't think he wears lipstick! Another view of the male Elephant Seal on Drakes Beach this weekend. Looks like he had some lunch before the nap.

Found this sleeping Elephant Seal (male) on Drakes Beach yesterday. Just like dogs seem to dream they are running, moving their legs, it looks like these guys dream they're swimming.

Elephant seals continue their endless battles for dominance. The true dominant alpha males have gone off hunting now up to the Aleutian Islands, and will be back to breed in winter/spring, the adult females have also left, but they hunt near Hawaii, so both sexes are thousands of miles apart. These are immature males left behind.
Today is day 362 of Project 365, 3 days to go.
