This is my favorite of the series due to the capture of the blue inside of the mouth. This is the reason for the blue.

During the breeding season, the Double-crested Cormorants eyes and mouth turn a bright blue-teal color. During the high of the breeding season, a cormorant's teal-blue eyes, bright yellow throat pouch, and tufts of feathers just above the eyes (for which the bird is named) cause this bird to stand out among the rest.

Look at her sweet face. He is lucky to have this sweet little girlfriend. This is about an hour away driving, but we hope to go back and see if they have a family in a few weeks. I'd love to get some shots of Cormorant little ones. They usually have small families.

The sun came out during this shot but with help from Lightroom I think it'll do. She has wrapped herself around and under his back leg and she is tugging on his wing feathers from underneath him. It was so special, I worked on it to hopefully make it good enough to share. ENJOY! More to come. I still have my favorite to show!
