They stay together even when they are not nesting. Love them! It was in the teens weather wise with frozen snow on the ground. I fed birds every few hours all day long. Not to mention squirrels and chipmunks and probably night visitors like raccoons. I almost emptied 3 different bags of feed in a few days: 40 lb of sunflower, 50 lb. of cracked corn, and 25 lb. of mixed seed, and suet but I feed my bluebirds mealworms.

They have their babies off the nest and in the trees and are busy, busy, busy keeping them fed. They usually nest 3 times each summer.
