This is the moment I’m always hoping for but rarely ever happens.

It has been a warm sunny day that in the evening changes into a short heavy hail and thunderstorm. From inside my campervan I look over the Kallsjön Lake in Sweden and see the sky getting clearer. In the distance a mysterious fog comes over the water that catches my attention. I walk outside to the edge of the lake and absorb the surroundings. In my mind I wonder: is this photo worthy? Behind me new clouds are forming and my doubts are getting bigger. Bad weather is predicted and probably the complete sky will be filled with clouds before sunset. Something inexplicable makes me grab my camera bag and I start walking towards the fog. About ten minutes later I am right in the middle of it and see a perfect composition of light, clouds, water and fog. This is the moment I’m always hoping for but rarely ever happens. Now it is only a matter of capturing it. I start photographing and shoot photos from different points of view. In the minutes that follow, the fog increases and the sky becomes erratic. I’m lucky that the sky does not close completely and the sunlight subtly manages to find its way through the clouds. Behind me I hear a strange noise in the distance. First I don't fully realize what it is. The moment I shoot this last photo, my composition disappears in an increasing thick fog and the louder getting noise appears in form of a heavy rainshower that hangs above me a few seconds later. I quickly put my camera away and walk back to the campervan, while on the way I enjoy the rain and the beautiful environment around me. I don't care getting wet, because my memorycard contains a great photo that I almost didn't take.
