Random archive pick and disappointment with Topaz photoFXlab - it introduces terrible noise-like artefacts and kills the image quality. Well, from 20 feet away from the screen it looks OK, and we can pretend it's 'texture', but...
The very same Topaz filters (Detail, Adjust) don't do this within Photoshop. The Lab is supposed to be their native platform, so why this happens is beyond me. It was very promising, especially for the Instatone feature (for which alone I may still use it - as a 'single trick pony', a filter, rather than host shell and all-in-one editing environment)...
Wonder what Topaz have to say about this - must read some of their forums...

This isn't the name of the lake (or the hill) - simply we had such fog that everything seemed surreal. I wasn't sure if any photography is possible but kept snapping - some more of these 'eery' shots are to come...

The famous Kuwait Towers provide fantastic views, but no photo-opportunities: indoor lighting was never designed with photographers in mind and internal reflections abound form every angle. Just when you thought you can avoid the worst reflections, you are reminded how dirty the glass is kept on the outside :(
But I didn't queue endlessly for the elevators just to go back empty-handed: whatever the obstacles, I had to snap a few frames... If you can see through the mud - it was Blue Hour, too :)
