During a recent trip to Masai Mara, we came across this huge pride of Lions late in the evening.
The pride consisted of 7 lionesses, 3 males and about 12 cubs of various ages.
The adults were just waking up from their afternoon slumber and the cubs were all full of life waiting for some food to be delivered!

The White rhinoceros or Square-lipped rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is the largest extant species of rhinoceros. It has a wide mouth used for grazing and is the most social of all rhino species.
The gestation period of a white rhino is 16 months. A single calf is born and usually weighs between 40 and 65 kg. Calves are unsteady for their first two to three days of life. When threatened, the baby will run in front of the mother, which is very protective of her calf and will fight for it vigorously. Weaning starts at two months, but the calf may continue suckling for over 12 months. The birth interval for the white rhino is between two and three years. Before giving birth, the mother will chase off her current calf. White rhinos can live to be up to 40-50 years old.

This beautiful southern white rhino and its calf were photographed on a late evening game drive in the wild savannah plains of Africa.

King Romeo II of the Double Cross Pride was not very pleased with his sub-adult son's behaviour and seems to be putting him in his place by showing him his massive canines early in the morning.

Photographed very early in the morning in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya.

The helmeted guineafowl (Numida meleagris) is the best known of the guineafowl bird family, Numididae, and the only member of the genus Numida. It is native to Africa, mainly south of the Sahara.
The Helmeted guineafowl is an exotic and easily recognizable bird native to Africa. It is a large bird with a round body and a small head. Its body plumage is gray-black spangled with white. The head is unfeathered and decorated with a dull yellow or reddish bony knob, and bare skin with red, blue or black hues. The wings are short and rounded, and the tail is likewise short.
They’re quite striking in their appearance in that they have a bony structure on top of their red, blue and white head.
Helmeted guineafowl are both monomorphic and monochromatic meaning that both males and females are similar in size, appearance and color.

This beautiful Guineafowl was captured during a photography safari on an early morning game drive in the Nairobi National Park, Kenya.
