Looking for 'bad monuments' I found out that we only have 3 of those monuments in the Netherlands of which there are 2 in Amsterdam. In Hoorn is the statue of J.P. Coen, In Amsterdam there is a statue of Peter Stuyvesant and a monument for Van Heutz, the Dutch military officer who was appointed governor general of the Dutch East Indies in 1904. I wondered what the effect of these monuments is for their surroundings, do they feel like a place to honor those people, or does nobody care? This is the first photo of a serie of three, although I don't know when the next one will be posted. The photo's won't have absolute black or white, only grey-tones.
