When I mentioned to Henny I was going to the Camarque for the holidays she asked if she could place a request: "a shot of a Camarque horse with waving mane taken against the sun" She always makes it easy for me.... Well as normally animals with four feet isn't my thing to do I just had to find one with a Cattle Egret!
Hope this is what Hennie wanted, and hope you like it too!

The tactic behind this shot was when I spotted a Cattle Egret with a horse I just parked the car just beside the meadow where there was a view over the barbed wire but rather far from the horse and the Egret. The horse will react by comming to the car. Mostly the Herons are more shy and wait, but when the horse starts eating again the Egret has gained enough courage and flies towards the horse.

While I was watching some Squacco Herons foraging on the ground suddenly this tiny Heron showed up. This adult male landed in top of the reed just in front of me and let me take many shots (after my heartbeat had fallen a bit). For me a lifer as Little Bitterns are extremely rare in Holland.
