This can't be more than a Reader's Digest version of my weekend, because to really do it justice, you'd have to just live through it.
I've been in England for a few days, to teach a Portrait workshop in Brighton.
Brighton just happens to be the home of several of my favorite photographers, and now, having spent the weekend there, some of my favorite people.
Friday night I gave a talk on my work, and that was followed by 2 workshops on Saturday and one more Monday night.
The Monday night workshop is where I finally got to photograph Georgie Hobday, recent subject of Kevin Mason's excellent Your Life is My Vanity Project.
And I will tell you this: that dame is out of this world. Energy enough to power the sun, face both fiercely exotic and unnervingly friendly, she is, without a doubt, one of the most unique-looking people I've met in quite awhile.
She's also a complete nutter, in the best possible way.
Really, though, you could say that for all the great folks I met in Brighton. Pretty much every single person I met was outstanding.
Which, as you may have guessed, means I've been drunk the entire time.
Today is actually my first sober day since Tuesday.
God bless the Queen, and God bless free drink service on Virgin Atlantic Airlines.

Met up w/Laura for my only official Photo Shoot of the trip.
It was a bit unsettling, being in a foreign park where I didn't know the terrain, doing My Thing.
Fortunately, Laura was more than cheeky enough to put me at ease, so at ease, in fact, I dropped my Polaroid, broke the little mirror that allows me to see the shots I'm taking.
But that damned thing's been trying to commit suicide this entire trip, so I'm not especially worried. Maybe I'll man up, learn to take those things apart.
Still totally digging England, by the by.

My favorite London resident.
Picked me up from Heathrow when I arrived, put me up for my entire stay in London, kept me safe, kept me drunk, modeled for my workshop, took me to Brighton, kept me drunk kept me drunk kept me drunk. As fine a partner in crime as one could possibly imagine.
Currently investigating safe ways to miniaturize her, smuggle her into the states.
Did I mention she kept me drunk?

Of the many great parts of my England trip (I'm back in america, btw) was meeting great photographers I'd followed on Flickr.
Great photographers like Eleni, who despite being just over half my age, knocks out stellar photos like spreading butter across bread.
She's also damned adorable, just a lovely lady, wicked smile that makes you wanna just take her and put her next to you whenever you do...well, anything. She's like a wee portable sun.
