For the longest time, I just posted photos, here. No stories, I'd run out of stories. Got back to it right around the pandemic starting, felt the need to write again, to flex that particular artistic muscle.

And it feels good, no doubt about it.

Even though it can be a struggle, what do I say about older photos, when I've already told the story surrounding those photos?

Even trickier: what if the photos had no real story attached?

And thinking about that this morning, a few tumblers in the brain clicked into place.

Here's a way to make interesting images: set up a shoot that leaves you with a story to tell, afterwards.

Not just "oh, we met up, took some pictures, had a nice time." No. You need to hike up into the woods, play around in the ocean, sneak into that abandoned house.

Meet up with someone who scares you, finally get that coffee with the old friend you've been meaning to catch up with.

Set up a catalyst for a story worth telling, and I guarantee you'll end up with photos you're happy with.

Might not be photos anybody else cares about, but what's that matter? We're post-popularity, now! Social media, the social media out there, it's bad for us! It works in opposition to our needs and well-being!

But having a good time, telling a story that entertains others, everybody wins!
