This was our guide inside the museum. This cannery was chosen by the Queen for her fish, as it was the cleanest one around. Her mother wondered what all the fuss was about when the came around to tour them for the choices. She said that they worked sometimes from 8:00am till 3:30 am and sometimes even longer. They had no ice to put the fish on so they had to can until the fish were gone. Seen above her on the left were the can trays, at seven years old she had to make sure her mother would not run out of cans to put the fish in. The cans were the sealed and pressure coked. the going wage for them was $1.05/ hour. As I left the tour a bus came in with a load of people. This lady started all over again with a great smile and the same great enthusiasm.
