The camera is on a Manfrotto 057 magnesium ball head, which, in turn, is attached to a 47-year-old Slik Master Deluxe tripod. The Litra LED is mounted on a Gitzo Explorer tripod. This photo illuminated by a Profoto A1X with Soft Bounce.
The EOS R5 and the Litra LED are both powered by AC adapters.
The Litra LED lamp puts out virtually no heat, and experience shows that it does not harm the butterfly.
This is a stack of three photos, all hand held, and centered on the butterfly. First I focused on the camera, then on on the butterfly, then on the Litra LED lamp. Aligned and combined in Photoshop on a 27" iMac.
Note one empty chrysalis on the vinyl siding and two other chrysalises, one partially hidden by the downspout and one above the newly eclosed butterfly. There is a third chrysalis hanging from the brickwork, outside this frame.
