The oldest and dearest charm on my original bracelet is the head you see here with my name on it. I had photographed it previously as my Image 25/100 in 2023.
My dad bought it at the Ottawa Exhibition back in 1956 the year I was born. One could buy a girls head or boys head and have a name engraved on it.
I hope you know that I appreciate your comments and visits. I may not get back to you quickly but I will try my best.

Charm Bracelet. I have several of these. One belonged to my mom while this one was mine.
Charm bracelets may have started to be worn to warn off evil spirts way back thus the name charm as in "lucky charm" I imagine. In the 50's and 60's they became popular with young women like myself. Charms were used during "my day" to record special events or times in our lives.
I collected charms well into the 80's from places I was posted to, places I had been, to mark special times including the birth of my oldest daughter and other things. each charm has a special meaning to myself and anyone who has a charm bracelet theirs too likely has a special meaning to each charm on the bracelet..
I hope you know that I appreciate your comments and visits. I may not get back to you quickly but I will try my best.
