Ever since I moved here I've wanted to out to this place and take some pictures. I have to pass it to get to the interstate and today I decided that I would finally go check it out today, for the 365days podcast challenge "On Location."

It was sort of scary and I drove around it in circles before I could get up the courage to park and go walking into it. There were houses around and I didn't want someone to come out and start yelling at me. I took my brother with me so I wouldn't get kidnapped by a serial killer-rapist-person. I had a lot of fun! The lot is just amazing and I cannot wait to go back and spend more time there. It was nice bonding with my brother too. I think I tend to take him for granted alot more than I should. Cause he can be a really cool kid when he wants to be. I took a bunch of pictures of him and he was my button presser. I still consider this a self portrait because I set the tripod and framed the shot, all he did was press the button. It was really frustrating though because the wind was terrible and most of the pictures I took of myself came out really awful looking, my hair was either in my face completely or sticking up and my eyes were squinty from the sun. I kind of like this shot though. I'm so glad I didn't chicken out. And I am just exhausted now! I forgot how much energy really goes into going out and getting dirty and taking pictures. And I know it's Half Nekkid Thursday, but there was no way I was getting on top of one of these cars half naked. I'd end up with 40 different diseases.

So this is my 'night portrait.' I sort of feel like this is more of a low key portrait than a night portrait, but it was taken outside at night so. Yeah. I had to fiddle around with the aperture and shutterspeed for half an hour but FINALLY I got it right. It was so hard to sit still! I'm really glad this week's theme was night portraits and not "take a macro of your face." Because I'm still all spotty and gross.

I'm not any better today than I was yesterday. I had written out a different blog for today but I'm going to move it over to Livejournal, cause I'm starting to feel like I'm being too personal on Flickr. I just feel sort of weird knowing that any stranger can find my pictures and read my blogs. If any of my contacts want to be added, just leave a comment.

I'm sorry I've been so depressing lately. I REALLY am trying hard to be happy.

I promise tomorrow's picture will be funny. And you have to check it out if you want to see day 51...

I don't really have much to say about today.

Does this shot look okay even thought the perspective is off and it's all tilted? I kind of like the imperfectness of it.

My dad was outside cutting the grass while I was taking these pictures. He kept laughing at me cause I had my camera on the ground propped up on my cigarette box and so I kept running back and forth checking the shots. Well to check the shots and adjust the camera I had to put my face on the ground, so I looked pretty funny on my knees with my butt in the air and my cheek pressed against the concrete.

My dad thinks I'm completely cuckoo-bananas. My neighbours probably think the same thing.

^That song is really great. It's got this creepy circus music...the whole song sounds very psychotic to me but I love it.

Anyway. Took forever to get this shot. Was having all sorts of problems. First my hair wouldn't cooperate, it kept drying too fast from the lamp I had 4 inches from my face, I wound up hairspraying it to my face so it would stay in that position. My skin is not happy with me. Then I couldn't find a memory card. So I would have to shoot 20 pictures, upload to the computer, take 20 more pictures, and on and on. THEN the internet wasn't working on the PC and I don't know anything about how wireless works so I didn't know what to do. I have to edit my pictures on the PC because I don't have Photoshop on my Mac, so I upload from the camera to the PC. Edit in Photoshop. Upload to Flickr. Check the image on my Mac to make sure it looks decent on both screens. Yes, I do this every day. But since the internet wasn't working, I had to transfer the image back to my camera after I was done editing and then upload to my computer and THEN upload to Flickr. This is getting really annoying. I wish PS would just install on my computer. I PAID FOR IT DAMMIT!

Anyway. That's it I guess. Tomorrow is HNT!

And guess who got sucked into 365days! :)

I'll be up al night until the tornado watch is over i can't sleep knowing that a tornado might rip through the house ugh yeah I'm pretty sure I'm going to die tonight, the house is going to crack into a million pieces and a tornado is going to sweep me up and shoot me into outerspace it was nice knowing you guys 4-9-08
