The sun goes down in Swakopmund and the city lights go on, including the searchlight of the 'little' Swakopmund lighthouse, which keeps boats and ships safe from the treacherous waters off the Skeleton Coast.

Dyrhólaey Lighthouse, Vik, Iceland
The goal was to be at Cap Dyrhólaey and shoot the famous arch in the morning light. The sunrise and early morning turned to be less than interesting. Some very big clouds were hanging on the horizon, but the little lighthouse was a great distraction and gave some opportunity to explore the very early dawn colors in the sky.

The Oregon coast has quite treacherous waters and many ships and sail-men got lost. No wonder that you see more or less one lighthouse after the other while driving along highway 101. Heceta Head lighthouse was a particularly nice one to wait for the later hours of the day to explore its light qualities.
