This is post is to open my real participation here under the "Land Escapers". As anyone else in this group this post goes with a lot of doubts. Something that I feel almost at every post.
My New Years Resolution was to work around the technique of fotografing against light. The sun, the moon or any other lightsource as backlight. I already knew that it would be quite a challenge and most of my work in this respect never made it to be presented. The first real breakthrough was my recently "Peek-A-Boo" posted at TE ( and now deleted as almost everything else from TE). This sunset shot over Horseshoe Bend was one of the rare moments were I didn't have any doubts regards its outcome and as such it was not only a succes at TE but also it got sold size of 17x22" x 3.
Not having the audience of TE that was more a kind of cheering crowd I would like to hear from you guys the real critiques.

After 2 intense weeks of getting up every morning at 4am and returning to bed at 11pm makes even the strongest landscapist go nuts. Nevertheless, standing on the last morning at the overview of Monument Valley is a rejoice and an invitation to do such craziness pretty soon again.

Once upon a time there was the beauty of a place called Glen Canyon. This is a long time ago since the existence of the Glen Dam and Lake Powell. With the construction of the dam a town called Page was created in the middle of the Southwest. Page is now a attraction for the prime time locations in the surroundings. Lake Powell is just the most visible one, but there are Antelope Canyon, Wahweap Hoodoos, Alstrom Point and many other places with mysterious names - for example Stud Horse Point.

Monument Valley is an iconic place since late John Ford and John Wayne put it on the map with movies like "The last Stagecoach", The Searchers" and many more. The times of roaming through this place are gone. Nowadays you need an oficial Navajo guide to take you deeper into the area and get to some special scenes like the famous Tear Drop Arch.
