The State of Nevada has more and better to offer than hyper Las Vegas. About one hour northeast of it is the Valley of Fire State Park. This is the last most west outpost of sand stone country which is so characteristic for the Colorado Plateau. However, it is not a repetition of what you see in Utah or Arizona. The area is very unique and worth a visit!
One of its many uniqueness are wind and water eroded caves. These can be small and in some cases a little bit larger. An exploration is worth it. I entered this one and came out of it with two things: an intimate impression of Earth’s bowel and with back pain as I had to make myself small and contort my body to get into position for this shot.
