Probably Maria Miller Woodhull Hall (1831-1913) of Jamestown, New York, who married William Charles James Hall (1828-1887) a major of the 23d U.S. Colored Troops. The couple had a son named William Hall who died in 1864.

Photograph shows civil war veteran, Samuel S. Ely (1836-1898), sitting, facing slightly left. Ely married teacher Sally Cadwallader in 1870 and died in Wyandotte, Kansas in 1898. After his civil war service he did farming and worked as a trader at the Oteo Agency, in Nebraska and as an Agent for the Pawnee Indians.
