Tomb of Hatshepsut. (tilt-shift fake)
The longest reigning female pharaoh, Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) had her tomb built into the side of a rocky cliff in the Valley of the Kings, near Luxor on Southern Egypt.
Taken from high up on a cliff above the temple, this scene far below seemed a perfect choice to me to bring out that miniature feel you get with a tilt-shift image.

Jodhpur seen from Mehrangarh Fort (tilt-shift fake)
The "Blue City" of Jodhpur just outside the walls of the Mehrangarh Fort as seen in the late monsoon season. The second largest city in Rhajastan state, it is famous for (among other things) it's fort and blue colored homes.
To me, the rain coupled with the tilt-shift effect really brings out the jewel like aspect of the brightly painted homes.

View of Xi'an from the Bell Tower (tilt-shift fake)
A view down Fenghao West Road fades into the grey mist hanging over central Xi'an on a cool Autumn day. You can see the Drum Tower (1380 a.d., the Bell tower was built 4 years later) just past the plaza on the upper right. One of the oldest cities in China, you can feel the pulse of modern urban life even within the ancient (over 2000 years old) city walls.

A Farmhouse in Rural Sichuan Province (tilt-shift fake)
Passing these many small farms in rural areas of Sichuan province made me think about the massive migration of many Chinese to urban centers/cities in search of higher wages and better standards of living. Gains and losses...whatever the choice.
