Flynn?! Psst... Flynn!
What is it Barney?!
Do you want to see something fun?
Well, duh!! Of course I do!! What is it?
In a minute, I'm going to make Hooman SHRIEK!! Shriek... and RUN!
Hooman? Run? Pfft! I'll believe that when I see it! And why's she going to shriek anyway?
Because... I am going to RUN down that hill!
Umm... I mean, is that, is that sensible? You're kinda... wobbly at the moment Barney?
Pfft, wobbly! I don't care about that?
No?
NO! I want to run down that hill an' I am going to run down that hill... an' Hooman will shriek an' then she'll run after me... but I'll be too fast! It's a while since I made Hooman shriek! This will be fun!
If you say so!
I do! Now, Flynn, you can do the countdown for me.
Fine. Three... Two... On- HEY!
Byeee!!

And off Barney went! Even Flynn seemed surprised to see Barney hobble off on his merry way. At home, Barney is now walking around unaided but he's still weak & unsteady, so outside, I use a harness to help Barney walk about. Which is why I initially assumed he'd stop after a few yards - but he didn't, he kept on going! When Barney reached the steep part of the hill, he sped up! While he wasn't running exactly, Barn did manage a sort of scuttling shuffle, crouched down, kicking his back legs... & this got him going at a reasonable speed!

I did indeed shriek - convinced Barney would trip & topple over (he didn't!) - & began chasing after him; Flynn "helping" by bounding between the two of us & barking madly. Haha, I'm not sure *who* Flynn was woofing encouragement to - whether he was telling me to run faster & grab Barney - or spurring Barney on, to go faster & escape my clutches! Barney easily beat me to the gate & he looked SO pleased with himself :) Once I was certain he was fine, I had a good laugh about it. Barney will be 15 next month & he's still surprising me with his wild antics!
