As we continue our daily walks that can't be any more than a couple of miles from our Bubble (i.e. Home), more and more Teddy Bears are appearing in the the windows of the homes we pass.
Teddy Bears... They're soft and furry (or most of them are!), and children like to cuddle them. But if we are honest, we adults are also probably quite partial to a cuddly Teddy Bear - especially when no-one is looking! :-)
The idea of placing Teddy bears in street-facing windows started on Facebook from London and was inspired by the Michael Rosen children's book "We're Going On A Bear Hunt".
The practice has even been endorsed by New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Adern (who also has a Teddy Bear in her front window), and I have to admit: it's rather lovely to see whole neighbourhoods coming together to display these Bears in their windows (or on their fences as the case may be!).
So keep smiling Folks; keep taking one day at a time, stay in your Bubble, phone or text friends (We ring our immediate neighbours every 4 or 5 days), keep washing the hands, keep smiling, and above all: stay safe!
