Just popping in to say hello; we just returned from a short trip to NYC to celebrate our 14th Anniversary. Great time; lots of sightseeing, shopping, shows, and fabulous dining. Have some shots to share over the next week or two but didn't take near the number of images that I usually do when we travel out west. Visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island during our recent getaway to NYC; probably one of the best values around the city. Quite impressive to see up close, and the views of Manhattan from the Pedestal are incredible. Our only regret, not upgrading to a Crown pass.

As you can well imagine, green space in a large city is quite limited, and on a beautiful spring day, space comes at a premium, as people of all ages flock to the parks to enjoy a bit of nature. Photographed in Washington Square....it was so nice to see everything in bloom.

According to history.com, The Brooklyn Bridge looms majestically over New York City’s East River, linking the two boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn at a length of 5,989 feet (1825 m). Since 1883, its granite towers and steel cables have offered a safe and scenic passage to millions of commuters and tourists, trains and bicycles, pushcarts and cars. The bridge’s construction took 14 years, involved 600 workers and cost $15 million (more than $320 million in today’s dollars). At least two dozen people died in the process, including its original designer. Now more than 125 years old, this iconic feature of the New York City skyline still carries roughly 150,000 vehicles and pedestrians every day.
