Canyonlands National Park - Island in the Sky.....
Views from Island in the Sky reach from the depths of the Green & Colorado rivers to the mountaintops and above. They stretch across canyon after canyon to the horizon 100 miles distant. A broad mesa wedged between the Green & Colorado serves as Canyonlands' observation tower. From here you can see vistas of almost incomprehensible dimensions.
As always, thanks for your comments & invites!!!!

"It's like trying to describe what you feel when you're standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon or remembering your first love or the birth of your child. You have to be there to really know what it's like. " ~ Jack Schmitt

Normally, I don't include people in my photos, but I thought it was appropriate for this scene in order to provide the viewer with some scale of the vastness of this landscape. And of course, it doesn't hurt that it happens to be my better half, Mike. Have a great Thursday......comments & invites are always appreciated :-)

This will be my last post until we return from our trip to the Southern Carribean...we will be visiting the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Turks & Caicos, Curacao, Bonaire, & Aruba this time around so hopefully I will have plenty of new images to share with everyone when we return in a couple of weeks. Until then, take care....and as always, thanks for your visits :-)
