While 2020 has certainly been filled with lots of challenges, uncertainties, and unchartered territory, the one constant for Mike and I (besides each other) is being surrounded by so much natural beauty. To be able to walk out our front door and have thousands upon thousands of acres of national forest and national park has truly been a blessing and a refuge for us in this crazy year.

Not everything this year has been a bust....I walked away with thousands of images of our breathtaking mountain landscapes and wildlife that are kind enough to allow us to share their space with them. And we are able to share our journeys with family, friends, and acquaintances that might not otherwise have the opportunity to see or experience what we have. To bid farewell to 2020, I put together this short slideshow (4 min).

what a beautiful morning!!!

We got a later start than normal Saturday morning, and as we were leaving town, this big boy crossed the road in front of us. He was moving pretty fast, and of course , I left my camera behind, so I used my iPhone to shoot some video. First time seeing him around the area. He was HUGE.

For some today is the end of the year and hopefully the start of a new beginning. For those more fortunate, it's just another perfect day.. ~ Author Unknown

As yet another year comes to a close, I am reminded once again of how fortunate I am to be able to travel this country with my best friend (and "sherpa"...LOL), photographing our life's journeys, and being able to share them with each other, our family and our friends. It is our wish that each and every one of you are blessed with a healthy, prosperous 2013...may your new year be filled with lots of new adventures and photo opportunities. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all....and as always, I appreciate all your visits and kind words!!!!

Dedicated to my mom...I wouldn't be who, what, or where I'm at today if it wasn't for the solid foundation, love, and encouragement that she & my dad bestowed on me & my siblings throughout the years. It's been a tough year with her passing...lots of tears & sadness....but also lots of laughs & joys brought about by so many cherished memories. A giant thank you & hug to my husband for being my grounding force, my calm, & the best friend I could ask for...and many thanks to my brother, sister, and dad for just being there :-)

I would also like to thank all my flickr friends for your support & encouragement throughout this past year....I look forward to sharing many more "journeys" with you all in the coming year. May your life be filled with happiness, good health, and lots of new adventures in 2012....Happy New Year!!!!!
