A common resident parakeet often sighted around our region flying from one tree to another. This is also one of my favorite birds - especially the male. The colors are vibrant and very beautiful. This is a female though and the colors are quite muted on the head with the gray color.

While driving on a countryside road, we sighted a flock of 10-15 parakeets on a small patch of bush which had a several of these small berry bushes. The bushes were around 2-3 feet tall and they seemed to be ripe. The parakeets were just enjoying themselves and were there for more than an hour. They would tear a small bunch of berries and eat them while holding with their left claw. There was a light rain, and not so great views, we struggled, but managed to get a few shots like this.
