Was doing a bit of yardwork in the backyard this afternoon when I happened to notice a splash of purple in one of the flowerbeds that doesn't normally have anything purple in it.
Out of curiosity, I went to check it out, and was surprised to see this iris blooming! It looked like it had been knocked over (perhaps from recent storms) since the stalk was nearly laying on the ground. The surprising thing is the iris planted in this bed, next to the house, haven't bloomed in years.
It's been so long, sadly I'm not even recall which variety it is because I bought so many. Possibly Painted Picture Bearded Iris? Now I have high hopes that maybe, just maybe, next year it'll bloom again!

The tan and white one is from Temu, we named it NAB, Not-a-beaver as beavers aren't two toned, and they aren't tan.
