Ali Levack is from Maryburgh (near Dingwall) in Ross-shire. He was been based in Glasgow since moving there to study piping at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The weekend after I saw him at the Festival Club he won the 2020 Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition, after being a finalist in 2018.
