Country: Ireland (British resident). Style: "Irish/American Crossover Banjo Music".

Lineup: Damien O’Kane (v/tenor banjo), Ron Block (banjo), Steven Byrnes (g), Duncan Lyall (b), John Joe Kelly (bodhrán).

Damien O’Kane and Ron Block first met through Kate Rusby's brother (who Block came across at a Sore Fingers camp). The two of them have played together since 2012, initially with Kate Rusby's band. They released a joint album "Banjophony" in 2018. with musicans including Steven Byrnes and Duncan Lyall (the last two also members of Rusby's band). This quartet has since toured to promote it. I have photographed the Damien O’Kane Band with Block as a guest twice before: in 2013 (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157632752612946/) and in 2018 (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157694837551211/). Plus O'Kane, Block, Lyall and John Joe Kelly in other lineups (to view click on the musician's name in my Tags)
