This group was formed in 2016 to perform Rebetiko and the traditional musics of Asia Minor, Istanbul, and the Balkans. At this gig the regular violinist Michael Iskas was replaced by "honorary member" Dario Papavassiliou. I have photographed Nicki Maher before with multiple groups - Plastikes Karekles, Olcay Bayir, Nee-va, Opaz, Yiannis Chaldoupis (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/nickimaher,-nearea...) and Kostas Glynos at a Rebetiko Carnival concert at Jamboree's previous venue (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157669908658470/). I have lso taaken photos elsewhere of two of the Collective members (Dunja Botic and Gizem Altinordu) not present in this quintet version of the group.
