15th October 2019 at The Harrison, London WC1

Folk and Roots, folkandroots.co.uk/.

Country: United States. Style: Traditional American Folk - Old Time & other styles.

Lineup: Audrey Knuth (fiddle/v), Larry Unger (banjo/g/jaw harp/v).

Larry Unger from Detroit, MI has lived in Boston, MA for many years. He has been a full-time musician since 1984 and has composed more than 5,000 tunes. Audrey Knuth from Waikïkï, Honolulu, HI moved to Boston in 2008 to attend Berklee College of Music, and has recently relocated to Oakland, CA. They regularly performed together, sometimes with another one or two more musicians and sometimes under the name Audacious. Often this is at contra dances, so they took the opportunity of a concert to play a wider variety of material (and to sing). As well as traditional tunes and their own compositions (several by Larry, one by Audrey), they performed material from Romania, Sweden and Québec and by Woody Guthrie and Ray Charles (as interpreted by Etta Baker).
