Lisa Bates is from Stratford, Ontario and Amy Keeler from Halifax Nova, Scotia (where they are now based when not on the road). They formed this duo after meeting by chance when Bates hitched a lift with Keeler. They mostly perform their own songs drawing on a variety of musical styles, but here also did an English traditional song learned from the singing of June Tabor, a Ladino one and songs from Madedonia and Bulgaria.
