Fifth annual Irish Hooley, organised by IMDL (Irish Music and Dance in London).

Lineup: includes Eimear Howley (fiddle), Sinéad Heagney (fiddle), Annemarie McCormack (fiddle), Garry Shannon (flute), Anthony Quigney (p/flute). Tim Collins (concertina), Claire Griffin (button accordion), John Lynch (banjo/mandolin), Sean Griffin (d) with Sharon Howley (cello), Brian O’Grady (b), Edel Vaughan (v), Matthew Gardner (dancer), Michael Gardner (dancer), Laura Minogue (dancer).

This band was founded in 1909 in Kilfenora, a village in Co. Clare. They were All-Ireland Fleadh Céilí Band Champions three times in the 1950s and another four in the 1990s. They have been led since 1992 by John Lynch (the third generation of the family to play in the band, his father was leader in the 1950s). Regular pianist Fintan McMahon was absent for this gig preparing to get married, so flute player Anthony Quigney played some piano.
