The original Morrissey Mullen Band was together between 1976 and 1988 brought to an end by Dick Morrissey’s failing health (he died in 2000). Apart from Morrissey and Jim Mullen many musicians passed throigh the group. Their 1985 album "This Must Be The Place" featured Noel McCalla on vocals, The Legacy Band has been performing since 2014 with Dave Lewis replacing Morrisseu. At the begiining as well as Mullen and McCalla also included Trevor Barry, Neal Wilkinson and Chris Fletcher who played with the original band. Tristan Maillot was playing his first gig with the group. They played compositions by Mel Waldren, Joey Calderazzo, Cannonball Adderley, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Steveie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield. This was the fourteenth time I have seen Jim Mullen live (first in 2003 and twice with the Organ Trio ncluding Mike Gorman) and I took photos of him with a quartet of his in 2011 (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157627121826357/) and the Great Wee Band in 2013 (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157632559583646/). I have also photographed Mike Gorman with Steve Fishwick (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/mikegorman,-morris...) and Ernie McKone with Candi Stanton (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/erniemckone,-morri...).
