Peter Knight was born in London and now lives in Creuse, Limousin. He was part of Steeleye Span from 1971 to 2013 (with a break between 1977 and 1980). He started the trio.Gigspanner as a side project around 2006, then left Steeleye Span to concentrate on it. There has been one lineup change with Vincent Salzfaas replaced by Sacha Trochet in 2016. Now for some festivals and gigs they perform in an expanded group witth Hannah Martin and Phillip Henry (who began calling themselves Edgelarks last year).
