Tommy McCarthy from Clare moved to London in 1952 and played a variety of instruments (concertina, pipes, fiddle) there before returing to Clare before his death in 2000. His son and three daughters also became musicians. The son (Tommy Jr) now lives in New York and the daughters in Ireland. The most active performer of the three is Jacqueline who lives in Galway and is part of a duo with her husband the piper Tommy Keane.
