Sidmouth Folk Week.

Lineup: Barry Coope (v/p), Fi Fraser (v/fiddle), Jo Freya (v/soprano sax/whistle), Lester Simpson (v/melodeon/ukulele).

For many years the three members of Coope, Boyes and Simpson were joined by Georgina Boyes, Fi Fraser and Jo Freya for an annual Christmas show of carols. wassailing, stories, poetry and jokes. After a while Jim and Georgina Boyes found travelling from Belgium increasingly difficult, and in 2011 when I went to see what was billed as the six of them, there were only four. In 2017 the same four decided to make the group more permanent and give it a name. Broadening out the subject matter of songs beyound Christmans time and making much greater use of instruments than the largely accapella earlier version.
