1st February 2018 at St Andrew’s in the Square, Glasgow.
“Baltimore Fiddle Fair” (a celebration of the West Cork festival).at Celtic Connections Festival, www.celticconnections.com/.
Country: Ireland (United States resident) & United States. Style: Traditional Irish Folk.
Lineup: Martin Hayes (fiddle), Dennis Cahill (g).
Martin Hayes from Maghera in east Clare and Dennis Cahill from Chicago (with parents from the Dingle Peninsular in Kerry) first met in the mid 1980s. A few years later they were both part of a "electric rock/fusion with Irish music" group. They have performed together as a duo since the mid 1990s. This is the sixth time I have seen the duo, the first was in 1997. These are my first photos of it, though I have plenty of shots of them in other groupings including the Martin Hayes Quartet earlier in this festival (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/martinhayes,-marti... and www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/ denniscahill,-martinhayesdenniscahill/).
