26th October 2013 at London Irish Centre (McNamara Hall), London NW1.
Return to Camden Town Festival, www.returntocamden.org/.
Country: Ireland (British born). Style: Traditional Irish Folk.
Lineup: John Carty (fiddle/tenor banjo/tenor g/flute), James Carty (fiddle), Maggie Carty (tenor banjo/v), Shane McGowan [a different one] (g), Kevin Doherty (b), Keiran Munnelly (d/bodhrán/flute/v), Colm Gannon (button accordion), Daoiri Farrell (v/bouzouki).
John Carty was born in London and in the early 1990s moved to Boyle, Co. Roscommon, the area from which his family came. I’ve seen him with Patrick Street, At the Racket, and Matt Molloy (for photos of the last see: www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157625261750951/). This time the band included his son James (not to be confused with his flute playing brother of the same name) and daughter Maggie.
In this photo: Carty plays an OME Juniper tenor banjo.
