The diffused light through the window was coming in from behind but at the same time bouncing off the yellow wall inside adding a warm glow back into the shadow areas.
Captured during the fashion show theme birthday party we attended over the weekend. A fun time seeing all the young girls dressed up.

Captured this of my eldest daughter while relaxing in the chair after three hours of chasing little kids around and taking captures of them at the birthday party fashion show. My daughter who helped pull this off for our friends was also pretty tired by then ... but she was able to smile for me while sitting there next to the large window (window lighting is best for portraits I think).
Captured this with the 70/200 Sigma Lens ... just outside the focal minimum distance. I pulled down the clarity a bunch with the processing to soften the skin ... needless to say the lens at 200mm that close has a bit too much detail for portraits :)

After each girl came down the 'runway' at this birthday party we were at today, they all came out together for a zany time ... including the birthday girl's father, Zoolander ;)
Good to know that crazy humor runs in this family ... a lot like mine own. A fun day with friends and memories captured.

For this birthday party fashion show the girls got to go around to various 'stations' for getting hair, make-up, helping to make outfits, and making hair-clips, etc. Lots of activity and it was fun for me to go around among it and try to get neat angles in on the action. When needed, used the bounce flash to fill in some dark areas of the room. It was a nice sunny afternoon, so there was a lot of good light coming in the house windows where we were.
The serious face here was just to adorable ;)
