One of the nice things I have been learning from my Flickr friends is obtaining multiple crops from one shot. Getting into the really long exposures that are in the 3 to 10 minute range, this will be extremely helpful as you are limited in the number of shots that can be taken during that sweet 10 to 20 minutes of light that you have at sunrise and sunset.

Here is a cropped view of the shot shown below that focuses more on the smooth water and sky that was there last Sunday. I also processed this differently with the clarity, as reducing this setting in LR-4 made the contrasts ghosts that were around the pier posts go away (they were very evident when zoomed in in the shot posted below with the clarity set higher, which I liked more to make the ice pop). With the ice gone, reducing the clarity in this cropped shot really enhanced and improved the image.

Will be posting another version cropped out of this original 10 minute shot that is vertical, most likely tomorrow.

Nick and Celia - thanks for opening my eyes to these other ways to approach processing and cropping of the photos. Will be very helpful moving forward when shooting LE at sunrise and sunset.

The color and streaming motion of the clouds over the Tetons Range there looks like a flower blossoming over the peaks.

Bulb capture taken at Oxbow Bend. Here the sun has risen, and the fog lifted to allow for the sunlight to start hitting the trees on the hill across the Snake River. The Tetons are also pretty visible at this time as well.

With the long exposure, the clouds really turned out nice in this one.
