This shot along the shore there at the park is looking northwesterly. The sun has set at this point, so I had taken the 6 stop filter off and replaced with the 4 stop, for a total of 13 Stops. This was getting me in the 300s range for exposure. I shot at f/5, and in the end could have been at f/8, as this was nearly overexposed. Part of practicing here and trying new things.
The sky colors and clouds were really changing and streaming here, and made for some nice effect on the sky and in the water where not frozen.
When I saw this photo after on the screen, I noticed that the ice in the lower part of the image was not in focus. At first I thought I had hit the focus ring as I was in manual focusing (needed with the ND filters on). But it was in the correct position for focus. Then I was thinking it was due to f/5. But looking at the beach, all there was in focus up close too.
It was then that I realized we had a very slow moving "Iceberg" moving along the shore. In the 5 minute exposure, the ice here was moving every so little bit. Something new to keep in mind when shooting LE's.

The sun shows itself along the Maryland Atlantic Coast. This is the Fishing Pier at Ocean City. Set up this frame to the side of the pier and then waited for the wave to just reach the tripod, then recede back into the ocean.

Some very nice warm lighting was coming down into Ricketts Glen there on the 5th of October. What a pretty place to get your feet wet and play around with the camera and filters. Will be making some trips there this spring I hope.

This is a sunrise capture of the beach rocks at the same location of the recent sunset shots I have posted. This was taken a year earlier in October 2011. The ocean waves were not that large back on the morning in 2011, and of course the lighting is very different at sunrise versus the sunset there along the Atlantic Coast.

Got up and out of bed a little early this morning and headed up to Susquehanna State Park, Maryland. With the front near by was hoping for a stellar sunrise ... we'll I should have went a little south evidently as I have seen a shot taken about 50 miles south of here this morning, and the sky was a lot more colorful - I was too far under the canopy here, with just a sliver of color coming in under the bank of clouds overhead.
In any case, still made due with what was delivered here. Felt good to get out and hike a little there in the park and check out some different shoreline locations there in the park. Last time I was here in this area of the park, the river was flooding and at this spot, I would have been about 15 feet under water. Much better for access and flow here today. Lots of nice debris, rocks, and trees along the shoreline. Here is the first shot of the morning, taken around 6:20 am. It was pretty dark, so was able to take the bulb capture without any ND filters. Like this location and the patch of warmer light trying to sneak in there during the blue hour ...
