Well I definitely looked the geek as I walked from the extremely crowded parking lot towards Artist's Point to capture the Lower Falls of Yellowstone. There were a few other photographers there at 2pm ;)

I had my tripod, camera, and then the 300mm hooked to my Cottoncarrier Harness as I trekked to the point. Me and couple hundred other people. My wife refused to walk along with me with all my gear in tow ...

It was fun setting the tripod up and taking the bulb long exposures. I was extremely happy that there were some fantastic clouds streaming overhead, as this allowed me to capture one of Yellowstone's Iconic spots ... but with a different take. Here is one of the first spots I set up to shoot the Lower Falls. I liked this location with the trees along this side of the Canyon Rim. The streaming clouds really make this special I think. For the mid-day lighting, I was very pleased with how this turned out.

... and it was fun explaining to others there what I was shooting and why when they asked the geek standing there next to the tripod ...
