San Gregorio Creek empties into the Pacific Ocean during the spring. The creek’s flow will be slow enough by the start of summer that the ocean waves will build a berm of sand at the water’s edge, creating a lagoon that will be the home of young salmonid fish and other aquatic life until the rains come again in the winter.
