Having to deliver some wine to the north east, I decided to revisit a few old haunts where I used to photograph a lot in the 1980s. It was depressing to see docks, steel works yards and mines all reduced to green mounds or dereliction, but I did get one unusual shot.

The first two Lynemouth biomass trains had been cancelled and I was giving up hope when up popped this - utilising all three Class 60s from Lynemouth back to Tyne Dock and reversing at Bedlington because of engineering works linked to the upcoming passenger reintroduction.

Pleased to get two manual signal boxes and a triple Class 60 on a push-pull!
