SONY NEX-7
This is a shot I took earlier today while sitting in the lobby at work.. A co-worker and I were jokingly discussing whether or not it was a bullet hole from a small caliber weapon. It appears that way... but neither of us are certain - thankfully!--:) In the least it could have been made by a pellet or bb gun.
I initially took this shot to get an idea of how this old (new) lens performed. I like the BOKEH! But after looking at it a moment I began to realize how symbolic it could be... What does the American flag mean to us these days? Many would say 'FREEDOM' I presume... But what does Freedom mean?
FREEDOM to do what?..

So, this is a shot I took a few weeks back while hanging out in a nearby city's "downtown" area. I like the vibe here, and there's plenty of cool restuarants, pubs, coffe shops and the common area near the courthouse where people seem to congregate. As usual, I was taking in the sights and grabbing a shot here and there.. Early on I happened upon the skateboarder at a table just relaxing. After grabbing a not-so-good distance shot of him (with my 135mm f2.8) I decided to ask him if I could get a better shot. He said, "Sure!" and then offered to do a couple stunts for me while he waited for one of his skateboarder friends to arrive.
Before I knew it he was airborne and doing his thing! The kids were watching in amazement and simply going ballistic! This shot was taken AFTER I realized him coming into frame - midair! I must confess that I liked the shot but originally chose NOT to post it because the focus was off. Then I had second thoughts...
*Notice the young girl who is literally airborne!* Kids are so fun to photography because they're so unpretentious. What you see is what you get with them...
